How many cubic feet in a storage unit? I can't find on Public Storage's website any info about how many cubic feet their 5x10 unit is. Obviously it's 50 square feet, but they have no info about cubic feet. I have a unit in California that I am moving the contents of to my current home in Pennsylvania, but I cannot access it until the move date, so I have no way of measuring it. So, anyone happen to know the cubic footage of a 5'x10' Public Storage storage unit?

What is the best way to store furniture in a storage unit? I will be moving to TX soon and my wooden furniture will not be able to fit in my apartment. I don't know how long I will be there, but I am planning on having my items stored in a non-climatized storage unit. I am most worried about my antique wood pieces that will not fit in my apartment. How can I help keep moisture levels down in my unit? Are there battery opperated dehumidifiers? What is the best way to store my wooden furniture? Any suggestions to help eliminate the musty unit smells? How can I keep my furniture from smelling gross? Any suggestions in general about storing furniture? Thank you!
Will a mattress that has been in a storage unit for two years be infested with bugs or mites? I have a mattress sitting in a storage unit NOT that tightly wrapped in this plastic mattress cover. Is it possible that it will be bug ridden deep inside the matress? Silverfish or bedbugs? Should it just be tossed out? I live in Missouri is that helps with the answer (we have lots of bugs here, ick. haha) It is in the way back of the large storage unit so I won't get to see it until we find a house and move everything out of it.
How should I go about keeping my couch looking nice in a storage unit? I'm 19... haven't used a storage unit yet, so I don't know how to keep my things kept up in a storage unit. Also... What does it mean to me to abandon a storage unit? My ex and I were sharing a storage unit but the lease was in my name and we were both paying on the rent. Now I have removed my things from the unit but his stuff is still there. When i asked how to transfer the lease to him i was told that i would have to sign a paper saying i was abandoning the unit and then he would have to sign a new lease. What does it mean or what happens when one signs a contract saying they've abandon the unit? Any advice on this subject is greatly appreciated. Thank you

What happens if a lien is put on a storage unit? I am wondering if a storage unit is paid in full by the due date, and the owner of the storage unit says they have put a lien on the storage unit, what then happens, and what rights do the owner of the belongings have.
how do I find someone to purchase the contents of our storage unit in lake tahoe? My mothet has two storage units in South Lake Tahoe. We need to dispose of them as she is now in an Assisted Living situation and we cannot afford to continue to pay the rent. She now lives in SoCal and it has become inconvenient to keep the contents of both units. One has the contents of my mothers house and the other my dads, who passed away in 1997. We figured it would be easier to just sell both to whomever purchases these contents from storage places of people who don't pay their rent. Help
How can I get some one to pack and move the contents of my storage unit out of state? How much will it cost? Currently I have a 9' x 9' unit at a Public Storage facility in St. Louis, MO. I left all my stuff there when I moved to CT, thinking I would move back. Now it turns out I won't, and I need to get my stuff up here. Selling it all is pretty much out of the question, a lot of it is sentimental stuff and a lot of it is stuff that if I sold and re-bought I would probably have to pay 3x what i paid to start with. It is mostly small boxes; books, clothes, dvds. A couple bookshelves, a futon, a 27 inch TV, microwave, bike, etc. Does anyone have any idea how much it would cost to pay someone to pack and move my stuff across the country? Or who I would pay to do it? I guess I would have to mail them the key and code to the place, but otherwise I wouldn't really take part in the process. I wouldn't mind if my stuff was travelling in a truck with someone else's stuff, and I don't mind waiting to get my stuff. I appreciate any comments, I'm totally lost on what to do with this one

Is it legal to live in a storage unit in santa ana ca. with power and a bathroom and is ok by owner? My landlord has a storage unit attached to my single apt. dwelling? The owner of my building has a storage unit attached to my single unit dwelling. It feels intrusive and wrong that she should gain access to her stuff by trecking through my unit, even though she does provide the 48 hour required written notice. How should I proceed to address her delusional and arrogrant persona. I am in LA.

Converting a 2 Story Wooden Storage Unit into a Home? I was at Home Depot today and noticed this two story storage unit with a porch, just a cute little barn-like structure. I don't make a lot of money, but I am wondering if the structure itself is around 13 thousand, could I hire a contractor, purchase a lot, and have the unit converted for about 40 to 60 thousand dollars so it's a livable home that's up to code? [the 40 to 60k includes the price of the unit itself].
